K918 1: Carbon 2: Alpine White 3: Midnight Grey

The Prorace R&D department has designed a carbon frame that is even lighter than the Zeus. The result is the Scylla, a top carbon frame.
The main feature of the Scylla is it's high stiffness. By using T-800 HM carbon, lug monocoque construction and effectively shaped tubes, we were able to produce a very stiff frame that weighs in at less than 1 kg.

Each frame is made entirely of carbon fiber. The monocoque construction allows us to design the tubes in shapes that are optimized for aerodynamic performance, stiffness and comfort. This means that compared to a traditional carbon frame, the Scylla cuts through the air like a knife. The special shaped tubing of the Scylla guarantees the perfect combination of lateral stiffness and vertical compliancy. We designed and engineered the tubing to reduce twisting and flexing, which can rob the frame of energy and efficiency. We also to reinforced the carbon in specific stress point of the frame to add strenght where it is needed most.

The behavior of a bicycle frame is totally asymmetric. For the purpose of the construction of the frame, we assume that the rider applies equal force with his left and right leg. However, the pull on the chain is always applied on the right side of the frame. To counter this force, this frame has an asymmetrical internal construction. Even though it is not visible on the outside, the left and right sides of this frame are not constructed the same way. To counter the effect of chain pull, strategic areas are reinforced with extra layers of carbon. Reinforcing different areas on the left and right side of the frame helps us keep the weight of the frame down and significantly decreases the risk of fractures.

Frames are sold including
- Fork ProRace ARION monocoque carbon (350 gr) + expander 1 1/8"
- Canecreek aheadset
- Front gear clamp 34.9 mm
- ProRace Red Star seatpost and seatclamp
- Carbon Prorace bottlecage

The Scylla is available in sizes S to XXL.

Frame properties:
Geometry: sloping (2 cm)
Weight: 1.000 g
Torsional Stiffness:
- Head tube: 118 N/mm
- Bottom Bracket: 192 N/mm
- Seat Stay/Chain Stay: 59 N/mm

Design
The Scylla is available in "Standard" or "CHYPS" design.

The "Standard" design leaves the carbon visible on the entire frame. The design is completed with red/white accents. This design is pre painted, so it can be shipped immediately.

The "CHYPS" design offers hundreds of thousands color combinations.
